MEMBERSHIP

General Membership

Individuals who choose to become members may come from any martial background. Membership does not require abandoning or replacing one’s original school or technical system.

Members may train regularly at the Tokyo Gekiken Club while continuing their primary affiliation elsewhere. Some choose to study and follow the club’s instructional system more closely; others participate as committed practitioners who value regular exchange and the development of Gekiken.

Membership is granted on an annual basis and must be renewed each year to remain active. It represents ongoing participation in the club’s activities and support for its continued development, as well as a commitment to maintaining a serious, respectful, and technically grounded training environment.

Members:

  • Train regularly within the club’s activities.

  • Respect the training structure and etiquette of the dojo.

  • Contribute to the continuity and growth of Gekiken practice.

  • Receive discounted participation fees for club activities and events.

  • May be recognized on the official website, should they wish.

Instructor Recognition and Representation

Practitioners who wish to become certified instructors of the Tokyo Gekiken Club, whether in Japan or abroad, must complete the designated instructor training program. This represents a specific level within the organization and is distinct from general membership.

Only those who demonstrate sufficient technical ability and understanding of the Gekiken Taisōhō curriculum up to Shodan, Nidan, and Sandan, and who have successfully completed the instructor qualification examination, will be recognized as instructors within the framework of the club.

Instructor certification confirms that the individual holds qualifications within the Tokyo Gekiken Club system and possesses the ability to transmit its curriculum accurately and consistently, with technical integrity. Certified instructors are not independent entities, but operate as part of the Tokyo Gekiken Club organization, adhering to its technical standards, policies, and ongoing instructional guidelines.

Certified instructors may establish and manage affiliated clubs in their respective regions, operating as official branches of the Tokyo Gekiken Club.

Instructor certification and branch operation are subject to additional organizational regulations and partnership guidelines. These details will be explained directly to candidates as part of the formal process.
